How do I trust Christ as my savior?
Establishing a spiritual base for my life, it is very important to begin by believing in Jesus as the Son of God who loves you and wants the best for your life.
- Believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for me.
Jesus showed He was God by coming back to life. “It is Good News that saves you . . . that Christ died for our sins just as the Scriptures said He would, and that He was buried, and three days afterwards, He arose from the grave.” 1
Corinthians 15:2-4
- Accept God's free forgiveness for my sins.
“Now God says He will accept and acquit us—declare us ‘not guilty’—if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we can all be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are or what we have been like.” Romans 3:22
- Switch to God's plan for my life.
“Turn from your sins and act on this glorious news!” Mark 1:16 “Don't let the world squeeze you into it's own mold, but let God remake you so that your whole attitude of mind is changed.” Romans 12:2
- Express my desire for Christ to be the Manager of my life.
“If you confess with your lips, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
- What to Pray:
God is looking at the attitude of your heart more than these exact words: “Lord Jesus . . .
What does God want from me?
“The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise to return, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so He is giving more time for everyone to repent” (2 Peter
3:9). “Jesus told them, ‘This is what God wants you to do: Believe in the One He has sent’” (John 6:29).
How do I turn from my sin and repent? “We are made right in God's sight when we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins” (Romans 3:22). “For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God’s anger against us. We are made
right with God when we believe that Jesus shed His blood, sacrificing His life for us” (Romans 3:25). “He declares sinners to be right in His sight because they believe in Jesus” (Romans 3:26 ).
I believe, now what? “Look! Here I stand at the door and knock. If you hear Me calling and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal as friends” (Revelation 3:20). “For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in
your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).
